Noon fire razes Iligan commercial establishment

Iligan City — A fire of still undetermined cause burned down a commercial building, noon  Monday.

According to the city fire department under Fire Marshal Butch Baulete, the fire was reported at Barangay Pala-o involving PLP Mart, a business establishment selling various dry goods and merchandise.

FO2 Rushmae Canque said the fire was reported at 11:50 noon and immediately the firefighters responded. Several fire trucks from the city’s central fire station at Poblacion, and then from Saray, Sanitarium, Villa Verde, and from Lanao Norte. The building is reportedly owned by Judy Pua and occupied by one Jason Sy.

The fire was put under control at 1:18 pm and reported as fire out 2:23 pm. The damage was pegged at around P500,000.

Firefighters said they had a hard time putting out the fire.

No was hurt by the fire, though.
