Unabia authored a resolution during the Gingoog Bay Alliance meeting last Friday requesting the secretary of the DSWD to establish satellite offices in the said municipalities.

He proposed that the DSWD satellite office in Balingoan could serve directly the people of Talisayan, Balingoan, and Kinoguitan.

The Salay satellite office could extend direct access for the people of Sugbongcogon, Binuangan, and host town Salay. While the proposed Balingasag satellite office would serve the people from Jasaan, Balingasag, and Lagonglong.

Kinahanglan nato og satellite offices arun dali ug duol ra sa mga pobre nga nanginahanglan og tabang diha sa maong buhatan,” said Unabia.

At present, people from Balingoan, Talisayan, and other towns have no choice but to travel to Cagayan de Oro City where DSWD-10 holds office.

Layo kaayo ug gawas nga layo gastos pa para sa mga pobre,” Unabia pointed out.

For his part, Balingoan mayor Aarun Unabia urged the evaluators of the DSWD’s 4Ps should visit their town to update their list of beneficiaries from their town.

The younger Unabia, who also serves as GBA’s treasurer, claimed that there are many 4Ps beneficiaries in his town who are not qualified and there have been many who are qualified for the program but have not been included in the department’s list. He urged the welfare department to correct its list.

Daghan miyembro sa 4Ps sa Balingoan dili qualified samtang dag-han pud qualified apan dili 4Ps beneficiaries,” the younger Unabia said.
