WAS there a truce between government forces and our brothers from various rebel groups? Was it observed? Was it violated?

William Guialani is a better breed, or so it seems. Because it was Christmas, he made a self-imposed unilateral truce with Mayor Oscar Moreno but with a catch: it would be over by Jan. 13, 2016.

Indeed, people are talking about it. Moreno was able to get a TRO or a 60-day reprieve. What would happen after that?

“We’re going to have a new mayor,” one said.

“Vice Mayor Ian Acenas will take over,” another added.

“Nah, Moreno will finish his term,” a another commented.

Guialani, like Santa Claus, never runs out of goods, and he is full of surprises. He is coming out with documents of transactions from the past and from the province, including the involvement of a favored businessman.

I hope the mayor won’t get to meet Guialani’s perceived close friend, jokingly hit him in the stomach, and say, “Grabe kayo si William, bai.”

Dentist Bob Ocio has been very critical against Moreno and ex-mayor Dongkoy Emano. A troll complained about it, criticized Ocio, called him a non-Cagayanon, he being a Boholanon, like he has no business in the affairs of the Cagayan de Oro.

For one, the troll missed Ocio’s negative remarks against Rep. Rufus Rodriguez. If there has been less criticisms against Rodriguez, it is simply because he is a congressman, and has no direct involvement in the affairs of city hall.

Making an issue out of Ocio’s being a Boholanon was a big mistake. Questioning his credibility was worse since the one questioning has zero credibility for being a troll. The least he could have done was to reveal his real identity.

Trolls have the right to argue and engage in healthy discussions. But it should not use his being a troll to malign others.

Ocio may sometimes sound condescending. But it is just how and what he is, and he never pretended to be what he is not. It is only natural that some may not agree with him and arguments may ensue. But at least, you know who you’re speaking with, not trolls.

Ocio talks of issues, not personalities. Otherwise, he could have burned bridges with his co-members in the “Bangon.” That makes him respectable and credible.

What happened to Cogon? Why? Has something happened to Cogon? Somebody posted about the garbage at Cogon lately. What was surprising about it, anyway? What you saw was “Hapsay,” right? Wrong!

Initially, Hapsay declared war against sidewalk/street vendors. It declared war against motorists by implementing traffic laws and regulations. Hapsay walked the talk, and… well, see for yourself.

No matter how one tries to be subtle, it is still clear that the comment is directed at the critics of Hapsay. Like I said, Cagayan de Oro is not Divisoria, and Divisoria is not Cagayan de Oro. But 50k is 50k. Bahala na mo diha!
