Chief Insp. Evarie Baconawa, Opol police station commander, identified the victim as Ronnie Mag-away, a resident os Zone 7 in Barangay Malanang, Opol.

Stricken by his own conscience, the suspect Julius Maglangit surrendered to the Malanang Barangay chairperson Nilda Zafra yesterday morning.

Zafra then brought him to Opol police station where he is now currently detained.

Baconawa said the suspect used an improvised shotgun during the killing.

Mag-away sustained multiple shots in the back that resulted to his instantenous death.

It was learned that both the suspect and the victim were drunk during the incident.

Giadtoan man sa suspetsado ang biktima sa iyang balay nga niadtong higayona natulog sa balay sa iyang ig-agaw ug iyang gipakanaug,” Baconawa said.

Unaware that the suspect was bringing a gun, the victim confronted the latter.

But sensing Maglangit was possessing a gun, he tried to run away but the suspect quickly shot him in the back.

A murder case is now being readied against the suspect.
