Regional office of the Securities and Exchange Commission-10 (SEC-10) late last week conducted a fact-finding investigation and gathering of evidences against Kapa Community Ministry International, Inc. for allegedly engaging scamming practices.

SEC-10 regional director Renato Egypto said following reports  that there were about 102 cases that had already been filed in the municipality of Bislig, Surigao del Sur .

“On going ang atong fact finding and gathering of evidences. In fact I have twice already sent my staff to Bislig, Surigao Sur to request copies of the criminal case files against Kapa and its leader Pastor Apolinario,” he said.

However, no formal complaints yet  has been filed coming from Bukidnon, Misamis Oriental, and Cagayan de Oro which reports reaching to SEC-10 office confirming that Kapa Community Ministry International, Inc. leaders has started recruiting its members in the said areas.

“Not one yet, despite sa atong hangyo ug panawagan and requests to all who wrote and emailed us,” he said.

In the “Scam Alert” issued by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has recently issued another advisory here on Kapa Community Ministry International, Inc., warning the public of the individuals and groups involved in such activities.

The advisory defines the activities behind the scheme, and advises the public to take precaution in joining or investing in these groups.

Egypto said other Kapa leaders told them that they would only stop facilitating the group until such time that payout would be stop.

“Gahulat lang sila anus-a mahunong or ma stop ang payout. In fact kami na ilang gikasab-an nga dapat dili mi manghilabot sa ila,” he added.

SEC information received that Kapa is operating in Mindanao particularly in Pangyan Glan and Alabel, Sarangani Province, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur, General Santos City, South Cotabato offering insurance to the public to invest in their company with a promise that the people can get a 30% interest income at the end of the month.

The public is informed that KAPA is registered with the Commission as a non-stock corporation under SEC Registration No. CN 201707724 on 03 March 2017 with office address located at Garay Arcade, Barreda Street, Caramcam District, Bislig City, Surigao del Sur 8311.

The following are the directors and officers of said corporation, namely: (1) Ptr. Joel A. Apolinario; (2) Nonita S. Urbano; (3) Junnie G. Apolinario; (4) Nelia V. Nino; (5) Maria Pella B. Sevilla; (6) Jouelyn A. del Castillo; (7) Cristobal R. Barabad; and (8) Joji A. Jusay. Based on the records of the Commission, it is not authorized to solicit investment which require a secondary license as provided under Sec. 8.1 of the Securities Regulation Code (SRC).

That group being represented by a certain Pastor Jun Apolinario and/ or Joel Apolinario is enticing the public to invest with a promise of 30% interest every month until forever in the guise and/or scheme of a “Deed of Donation” or “Certificate of Membership” enticing the public to invest with promise of 30% interest every month until forever.
