By NITZ ARANCON,
ONLY one of the arrested sons of Misamis Oriental provincial jail warden Dominador Tagarda tested positive for substance abuse, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said yesterday.
PDEA agent Expedito Cardona said Tagarda’s younger son Bon Clinton tested negative for drug use but not the elder Gregor.
Cardona said this even as the PDEA committed the siblings to court, a day after authorities charged them with illegal possession of prohibited drugs or for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165.
PDEA also filed a case for illegal possession of drug paraphernalia against Gregor based on Section 12 of RA 9165. Cardona said PDEA agents caught Gegor in the act of substance abuse when they barged into his room where they seized suspected shabu, a tooter and other paraphernalia.
“Wala na sila mangayo’g investigation, diretso na sa korte ang ilang hearing,” Cardona said.
The siblings were arrested during a raid in the Tagarda home on Gumamela Street in Carmen on Tuesday.
PDEA said the agents seized some P170 thousand worth of suspected shabu during the raid.
Cardona said he doubts if the siblings would be allowed to bail out given that authorities confiscated over five grams of suspected shabu during the raid.
