THERE is no additional P500-thousand reward from city hall yet against the killers of University of Science and Technology of Southern Philippines president Ricardo Rotoras.
Contrary to reports, the city council has yet to approve Councilor Teodulfo Lao Jr.’s proposal to add half a million pesos to Mayor Oscar Moreno’s P1-million offer.
Councilor Lao said the committee of the whole city council approved on Wednesday to endorse the proposed additional P500-thousand reward to the city’s legislature. But until the city council approves it during its plenary session, it would remain as a proposal.
Lao said the proposal to to source the additional P500 thousand from city hall’s 2018 peace and order fund.
If approved, the reward for the capture of Dr. Rotoras’s killers would be P2.5 million. Mayor Moreno and the Masonic community earlier announced a P1-million reward each in exchange for useful information that could lead to the arrest of the killers. (nitz arancon)
