Expecting the large number of applicants Comelec-CDO has transferred the registration venue from its office to Robinsons’ mall since the office at Burgos-Cruz Taal Sts. would be inadequate for the public due to its limited space.

Lawyer Ramil P. Acol, City Election Officer said that “the registration will start at 8:00 am to 5:00 pm,” adding that releasing of priority numbers will be every 6:00 am at Robinsons’ car park.

Pursuant to Comelec Resolution No. 10392, “Resumption of the System of Continuing Registration of Voters in Connection with the May 13, 2019 Synchronized NLE,” applications for registration, reactivation, transfer, change/correction of entries in the list of voters shall be personally filed.

For the requirements, Acol clarified that “for new registrants, reactivation, and transfer applicants, any valid ID with current address will do. For correction of entries, they will have to bring three photocopies of their Philippine Statistics Authority issued birth certificate and for the change of status, three photocopies of their marriage contract and again, any valid ID.”

“For the youth with ages 17, 18, and 19, they will have to bring one photocopy of their birth certificate and any valid ID, for example, their school ID,” he added. “For 17 years old applicants, they must be at least 18 years old on or before the day of the election,” he explained.

All other transactions such as the issuance of Voter’s Certification and claiming of Voter’s ID cards will also be accommodated in the mall. (laco)
