THE  City Council committee on public safety and order, chaired by Councilor Romeo Calizo, discussed the status of the procurement of K-9 by the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo).

Citing that the procurement of K9 dogs is the brainchild of the city mayor himself, Calizo challenged Cocpo to present a complete package proposal including the space or area designated for the training of the dogs, mobile vehicle and all other aspects necessary for the K-9 institutionalization.

“This is a challenge to Cocpo, let us help one another to meet the standard of our city mayor,” urged Calizo.

He stressed that the procurement process should be handled by a police staff officer who knows the technical aspect and capabilities of the project.

Meanwhile, a representative from the City Vet Office volunteered to assist and partner with the Cocpo not only in the training but also on the health-related concerns of the dogs. (sp)
