CITY Councilor Teodulfo Lao, Jr, chairman of the committee on energy, is disappointed upon hearing reports that fuel bootlegging is still prevalent in the city.

Lao said he is going to summon the members of Task Force Bote-bote to the city council, including its chairman City Treasurer Glenn Bañez.

Lao wants to ask Bañez and the members of the task force why bootlegging of gasoline is still prevalent despite an anti bote-bote ordinance already in place.

Buot pasabot niana, nga natulog sa pansitan ang Task force Bote-bote kay nganong  wala sila maka monitor niining mga tawo nga nagbaligya og gasolina nga naka supak sa atong Anti Bote-Bote Ordinance,” a visibly irate Lao said.

Lao’s reaction stems from a grenade lobbing incident in Sitio Cabula, Barangay Lumbia at the store of one Julius Javier in the evening of Dec. 27.

According to Lumbia Police’s investigation, Javier –– who was one of the four injured in the incident –– is involved in bootlegging fuel in the barangay.
