STUDENTS of Professional World Academy-Misamis will have their affiliation and internship training at the J.R.Borja General Hospital.

This, after the 18th City Council during its regular session this week presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy authorized Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Contract of Affiliation with the PWA-Misamis covering the internship and clinical exposure at the city-owned hospital.

PWA-Misamis is a private institution that offers one-year Health Care Services course with a permit from Technical Education and Skill Development Authority requiring all its trainees/students to undergo related learning experiences through affiliation training in health care services providers.

In his letter to the City Council, City Mayor Oscar Moreno said this laudable collaboration is intended to provide the stakeholders; in this case, the students acquire valuable actual knowledge in hospital care and services at the city-owned hospital. This is in relation to the program of the city government to promote health and hospital services in the local government unit.

Under the contract, the affiliating school shall assume responsibility for the care of the affiliates in case of illness or injury during the course of affiliation; comply with the existing rules and regulations regarding training and such duties and responsibilities that will be formulated by the JRBGH in consultation with the affiliating school and such other rules and regulations the JRBGH may promulgate after the execution of this instrument.

For its part, the JRBGH shall provide maximum opportunity for the affiliate to gain actual experiences and training in the various clinical areas per requirement under the Health Care Services program.

It shall also enforce rules and regulations regarding the admission, supervision, training of HCS affiliates, should the affiliate fail to comply with any of the regulations of the JRBGH by committing acts detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the patients and personnel. (sp)
