THROUGH a resolution, the 18th City Council during its regular session Monday presided over by Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy, endorsed the conversion and classification of four city roads to national roads.
These are the Macapagal Road (Jct. Masterson Avenue – Jct. Bulua/BCIR); CDO Coastal Bypass Road (Abut “B” of CDO 3rd Bridge; Kauswagan-Abut “B” of Iponan Bridge III, Bulua Section); J.R. Borja Extension Road (Jct. Osmeña-Gusa Section), and the CDO Coastal Bypass Road (Abut “B” of CDO 3rd Bridge –Puntod –Lapasan-Gusa Section).
Pursuant to E.O. 124, series of 1997, the local road proposed for conversion will be considered for reclassification into a national road by way of DPWH Administrative Procedure. Technical requirements and standards include an endorsement from the concerned local government, proof of required road right-of-way and technical road standard of at least six-meter carriageway width.
The resolution was endorsed by the committees on public works and on laws and rules chaired by Councilors Zaldy Ocon and Ian Mark Nacaya, respectively. (sp)
