THE City Council committee on cooperatives chaired by Councilor Eric Salcedo is slated to tackle the request of Isla de Oro Consolacion Sand and Gravel Marketing Cooperative in Barangay Consolacion.
In a resolution, the cooperative appealed to City Mayor Oscar Moreno through the City Council that the cooperative be granted a permit for the transport of sand and gravel which is the source of living of the cooperative members.
The board said the cooperative has executed an affidavit of undertaking that would guarantee the Barangay Council of Consolacion and city government that all track loads of sand and gravel coming out of the quarry site of the barangay be duly collected with the appropriate transport fees. The barangay and the city will generate respective collection revenues, the board said. (sp)
