Strabismus or tropia are the medical terms for eye conditions commonly called by various names: eye turns, crossed eyes, cross-eyed, wall-eyes, wandering eyes, and deviating eye.

Some 30 eye patients benefitted from the free eye operations mission which was also organized in coordination with Cagayan de Oro Eyesight Board and supported by Rotary Club of East Cagayan de Oro, East Urban, Uptown, and Bay Area.

Dr. Carlo Antonio Romero, chairman of the Cagayan de Oro Eyesight, said they organized the mission through the “Gift of Sight Program.

For his part, Mayor Oscar Moreno said eyesight is very important to a person.

“No amount of money can equate the life changing procedure,” Moreno said.

Other doctors who participated were Dr. Majourette Dy Varela, Dr. Minnette A. Panganiban, Dr. Beltran Alexis A. Aclan, and Dr. Gabrille Evangelista.
