Local governments of Cagayan de Oro and Misa-mis Oriental failed in several principles set by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG 10) in getting award for Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLP).

DILG 10 regional director ArnelAgabe said both local governments failed in several grounds set as “3 plus 1 principle for the seal.

“This means that an LGU need to pass all the three core assessment areas like Good Financial Housekeeping, Social Protection and Disaster Preparedness, and at least one from the essential assessment areas like Business-friendliness and Competitiveness, Peace and Order and Environment Management,” he said.

He said there were already SGLG winners set by DILG in northern Mindanao, they are still awaiting for the final report in showing the deficiencies coming from the assessors.

“We can say ngadunay areas nga nag-fail angCagayan de Oro as well as Misamis Oriental. If we talk on the totality and performance of the LGU, we are not just talking on the mayor, the vice-mayor or city councilor and department heads. We will providing the media the complete assessment,” he said.

The assessment was not only done by the DILG 10 but there were members of the regional assessment team and national assessment team coming from other national agencies in other regions.

“We have also members coming from the academe and civil society organizations (CSO) angubanusabsa DILG assessment team in conducting the assessment. Checklist were given and needs validation made by the regional team. Dililangkinione timenga assessment but there were validation conducted,” he said.
