A farmer who killed his wife due to jealousy, has been arrested by authorities last Sunday morning at Barangay Tablon, this city.
Major Ivan Viñas, Cagayan de Oro City Police Office spokesman, identified the suspect as Ryan Padin, 30, residing at Catarman, Camiguin province.
Padin admitted to killing his wife, Jenny, during an altercation.
Viñas said, the suspect first choked the victim and then stabbed her in the abdomen.
After the incident, the suspect hurriedly left the place and hid in his sister’s house in Tablon.
But an informant who knew the suspect’s whereabouts reported to the police.
A joint force of Catarman police operatives and personnel from the Cugman police station surprised Padin while inside the said house yesterday at early in the morning.
The suspect is now temporarily detained at Cugman police station mini-cell. He will be brought to Camiguin to face criminal charges. (Joey P. Nacalaban)
