Oro pugs win big in China

City Mayor Oscar Moreno lauded two of Cagayan de Oro City’s finest boxers who displayed splendid performance in a recent international boxing tournament held in Shanghai, China dubbed as Belt and Road China International Boxing Tournament.

In a courtesy call yesterday, 23-year-old flyweight Marvin Tabamo proudly presented his silver medal, along with his compatriot, 22-year-old light welterweight Sugar Rey Ocaña who won bronze medal, and CdeO boxing team head coach Elmer Pamisa.

Sukad sa una hangtud karon, wala gayud mausab ang suporta ni Mayor Moreno kanamo, ilabina kay iyang nakita ug gikalipay ang among nakab-ot nga mga kalampusan pagdala sa ngalan ug dungog sa atong dakbayan ug nasud,” the two boxers said.

Promising Tabamo and talented Ocaña, both products of Moreno’s grassroots amateur boxing development program, are two out 14 Cagayanon boxers who are now members of the RP national boxing team.  (cio)
