The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) of Cagayan de Oro is the first in the country to create a module for disaster preparedness that will be used by the Department of Education (Deped) on the K-12 curriculum.

Disaster preparedness is among the priorities of the schools in the city before the opening of classes..

With this, the CDRRMO, led by Allan Porcadilla, recently visited Regional Science High School to provide information and knowledge to parents including the faculty members on the proper things to do during calamities.

Porcadilla said that the module was made by the Deped focal person on disaster, who is also part of the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (CDRRMC), as one of their projects. (cio)
