THE 19TH City Council has authorized City Mayor Oscar Moreno to enter into and sign the Memorandum of Agreement with the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
This covers the implementation of the PCSO Desk/ASAP Delivery System at the J.R. Borja General Hospital.
The PCSO is the principal government agency for raising and providing funds for health programs medical assistance, and services, and charities of national character.
One of the PCSO’s institutional charity programs is the Individual Medical Assistance Program where medical assistance is given through the issuance of guarantee letters to partner hospitals. It assumes the obligation of settling the cost of medicines, chemo, drugs, dialysis solutions, and other medical needs of said patients with said hospitals.
Under the program, partner hospitals provide not only medical and health-related services but also medicines for chemo, hemodialysis, and post-operative treatment to patients referred by PCSO.
Pursuant to the pact, the PCSO shall conduct an orientation for the partner hospital’s medical social workers and other concerned personnel; provide technical assistance in the implementation of the PCSO Desk; conduct regular monitoring; monitor compliance for the 45-working day processing of payment; and reconcile accounts on a quarterly basis.
