Aiding not only to environment preservation but also to children with leukemia, the 3-storey Balai Lunas made of eco-bricks is unveiled by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, late last week.
Coming first of its kind, the eco brick building is comprised of laminated plastics made by garbage segregators of the recently closed open dumpsite at Upper Dagong, Barangay Carmen, here.
Engr. Armen Cuenca of the City Local Environment and Natural Resources Officesaid the eco-bricks to be used have doubled durability than the usual hollow blocks.
“Ang kalig-on sa eco brick 700 pound per square inch (psi) kompara sa hollow blocks nga 400 psi lamang. Gani man 35 percent ang savings nga makuha kung mogamit og eco brick,” Cuenca said.
City Mayor Oscar Moreno, vlogger Nico Bolzico, Clenro personnel, and parents of children with leukemia graced the unveiling ceremony. (cio)
