FORTY-SIX years of bringing water to our beloved Cagayan de Oro City has been like a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs. They say experience is the best teacher and indeed COWD has been through it all, from highs like being on LWUA-WD’s Hall of Fame and recently the distinction of being one of four water districts in the country with 100,000 active service connections.
This week has been nothing short of amazing what with anniversary activities like an exciting sportsfest at the SM Bowling Center, a supplementary feeding program for the kids in our neighborhood –Brgy. 27, the thanksgiving mass at nearby Jesus Nazareno Parish and the exhilarating party full of VIP guests that included Senator Koko Pimentel, City Mayor Oscar Moreno, PAWD President Carlos N. Santos, MAWD President Leonardo Rey D. Vasquez, VEI representatives led by Resident Project Manager Adriaan Ruijmschoot, COBI officials.
Anniversary activities will cover the whole month of August with outreach and charity activities to be rendered by each of COWD’s seven departments. (pr)
