According to a Spokesman of the Office of Lone District of Iligan Congressman Frderiick Siao House Bill No. 4165 seeks the construction of two national highways called “Muslim-Christian Unity and Crossroad Highway” that will connect the said provinces.

It was mentioned that currently Marawi City has only one connecting route to Iligan and Lanao del Norte.

The said proposed road network will start from the Lanao del Norte Circumferential Road in Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte and ends in Talakag, Bukidnon, with another road that will connect Iligan City and Marawi via Barangay Pugaan, Iligan City and Kapai, Lanao del Sur.

The proponents of the bill envision that the national highway project will promote peace and order in Mindanao.
