THE Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is set to press charges today against four drug suspects who were caught with some P3 million worth of suspected shabu in Iligan city late last week.

PDEA regional  director Wilkins Villanueva said the suspects––Sanawiya Ampaso Calumbang, 40, Khadafi Aloyodan, 37, Jamey Sarif, 31, and Bryan Abdul Malik, 32––would be charged with violation of the Dangerous Drugs Act before the Iligan city prosecutor’s office.

Villanueva said authorities seized from the suspects suspected shabu at the parking area of Gaisano Mall in Villa Verde, Iligan City, on Thursday afternoon.

The operation was carried out by agents of the PDEA in Region 10, Region 9, Region 11, and the Iligan police.

Villanueva said authorities confiscated two cellophanes of suspected shabu that weighed some two kilograms.

Authorities also seized a black Toyota Vios with license plates ZSX-658,  six bundles of mostly  paper that were made to look like money with some P1-thousand bills, and two cellphones.

Villanueva said the suspected  shabu was sent to a PDEA laboratory for examination while the other seized items were being checked by the police’s cybercrime unit.

The suspects are now being held at the PDEA regional office on Velez Street here.
