16 drivers, 8 cars, 2 weeks, 1 goal. That’s what Petron Triaction Performance Run is all about in a nutshell.
Starting from Davao, 16 drivers from various parts of the country will drive from Mindanao all the way up to Luzon while having stopovers in 9 different cities using only one type of fuel, Diesel Max.
So last May 27, the drivers along with the Petron team arrived my hometown, Cagayan de Oro, at around 2 in the afternoon. We then headed to the outskirts of the city where the Divine Mercy Shrine was located. Since it was a Sunday, it was best that we all heard mass to start the tour right. They also got to tour the said place and took photos with the 50-foot statue of Jesus Christ which was exceptional. Most of the drivers were also being interviewed by local media personnel during our time there.
The drivers were then famished after so we drove back to the city to dine in one of CDO’s best restaurants, Panagatan which is very known for their seafood dishes and great dining ambiance.
After filling up our tummies, we dropped by the Petron Kausuwagan branch to refuel before heading to their hotel to get some rest because they will be leaving for the next stopover the following morning.
Personally, I think what Petron is doing is really great. They aren’t solely focused on making their brand known and improving the quality of their products but most importantly, they are also making an effort to help the tourism of each destination they visit throughout the whole Triaction Performance Run.
