AUTHORITIES are working to identify a driver whose pick-up truck sideswiped a traffic aide at the junction of Osmeña and Justo Ramonal streets here on Wednesday afternoon. The victim claimed it was intentional, and that it was a case of hit-andun.

Police identified the victim as 36-year-old Allen Lo Cabatuan of Zone 6, Barangay Gusa, this city.

Cabatuan, a member of the Roads and Traffic Administrations (RTA),   sustained injuries.

Investigators said the victim was at the intersection at around 3:30 pm when he asked a driver to move his truck because it was obstructing the vehicular traffic flow.

Cabatuan said the driver drove off but not after hitting him intentionally.

He claimed he could have been hurt badly had he failed to move away fast. But he said the car hit his left arm and knee.

Cabatuan said he tried to stop the driver by blowing his whistle but to no avail.

The traffic aide said the suspect was driving a white 4×4 pick-up truck.

Cabatuan gave the police the license plates number. He said he would also go to the Land Tranportation Office in an effort to identify the owner of the vehicle. (Joey Nacalaban)
