DOCTOR Nelly R. Ledesma, the first Filipino Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology (Faaa) and past president of the Philippine Society of Audiology (Psaud), and Engr. Edgardo G. Ledesma, director of the Ledesma Audiological Center, Inc. (Laci) are going to visit Widex Japan in Tokyo to meet their counterparts.

Widex is one of the world’s largest hearing aid manufacturers. In close collaboration with international audiological researchers and specialists, the company has developed a wide range of digital hearing aids, including the world’s first 100% digital in-the-ear hearing aid in 1995.

Widex hearing aids are sold in almost 100 countries and the company employs approximately 3,800 people around the world. It is located in Allerod a municipality of Denmark, north of Copenhagen.

Included in the itinerary, will be a courtesy call to the Philippines ‘Ambassador to Japan, His Excellency Manuel M. Lopez.

Dr. Ledesma continues to update her knowledge and skills in the field of Audiology through conventions and knowledge-sharing with counterparts in different parts of the world. All the information acquired from these is shared to the Laci team of hearing specialists nationwide, as they continue their mission in serving hearing impaired individuals.
