This effort is made for the modernization program of the said agencies.

This planetarium according to Dr. Renato Solidum Jr, Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change of DOST this project wants to emphasize to people that Science is for everyone.

“To make people be interested of science we put up a planetarium”, said Solidum.

Pagasa has one planetarium in Manila and this 35 Million worth of project (the planetarium) is the first in Mindanao.

Planets and stars are just among of those that can be seen in the said planetarium. They will also be offering star gazing, according to the Administrator of PAGASA. All these are intended for students who can have their field trip and for people who want to be near close to these said heavenly bodies.

Misamis Oriental Governor Yevgeney Vincente Emano appreciated the effort of the two agencies saying that the only legacy that can be given to student is education and the planetarium is a good medium to learn more about science.
