POLICE arrested a habal-habal driver after a 19-year-old female passenger filed a complaint against him.
Police Senior Master Sgt. Rey Abecia of Puerto Police Station, identified the suspect as a certain Reynante Dignos, 46, a resident of Sitio Tin-ao, Barangay Agusan, this city
The complainant, Apple Abuso of Sitio Kababalan of the same barangay, said the incident happened at 2:30 am Monday when she rode the motorcycle driven by the Dignos.
“Ako siyang gi-ingnan nga magpahatud ko sa amoa. Sa dihang milarga nami giagi siya sa di nako sinati nga lugar unya ngitngit kaayo,” Abuso said.
Abuso said she told Dignos to go back but the latter ignored her.
Scared that something bad might happen to her, she decided to jump from the speeding motorcycle.
As a result of the impact, the complainant sustained contussions and bruises in the different parts of her body.
The driver, Abuso said, just sped away leaving her grimacing in pain.
During the police follow-up operation, authorities were able to apprehend Dignos at his residence.
In the initial investigation, Dignos denied the complainant’s allegation by saying he did not remember fetching Abuso.
Dignos is temporarily detained at Puerto police station awaiting appropriate charges.
