Iligan City — The police at Station 5, Poblacion this city were alerted by complaint of concerned citizens of a suspicious stranger possessing a short firearm on board a yellow combination black vehicle with plate no. PMK-718 on Wednesday, early morning.
At about 12:30 am of the same day, the police team sighted a vehicle Toyota Corolla at Purok 4, Saray, this city having the color as described.
PO3 Cory A. Delicana and the other members of the team together with two other mobile patrols, Patrol Delta 5 and Patrol Scorpio 5 then cautiously approached the reported vehicle but the latter was alerted and fled to the direction of another Purok in said barangay.
The vehicle was finally flagged down near the creek. A check on the person revealed his identity as one Mohaimen D. Darimbangun, 32, a resident of Batangan, Saguiaran, Lanao del Sur.
Tucked on the right side of his waist was a short firearm which was later found out to be a wooden replica of a handgun. Inside the vehicle, at the driver’s seat particularly in the gearshift portion upon inspection and in plain view, were two large sachets of suspected shabu.
Two other male companions were found to be carrying three small size plastic sachets of suspected shabu, and one glass tooter. The third person was identified as one Hamen Ibrahim, who was seated at the back, 19 years old and also hailed from the same place at Lanao del Sur.
Confiscated items were properly inventoried and witnessed by Councilor Bernard Pacaña and then brought to the Iligan City Crime Laboratory Office at Tipanoy, this city for forensic exams while suspects were temporarily detained for proper disposition.
