AUTHORITIES caught a city hall worker while he was allegedly in the act of using illegal drugs in an inn on Vamenta St. in Carmen, this city, yesterday morning.

The arrest came a week after the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted surprise drug tests at the city council. Vice Mayor Raineir Joaquin Uy and councilors tested negative.

Carmen police chief Ritchie Salva identified the suspect as Jesrael Mark Bombeo, 29, of Makahambus and Burgos streets, this city.

Chief Insp. Salva said Bombeo’s identification card shows that he is holding the position of Administrative Aide 1 at city hall.

Salva said polie barged into one of the rooms after they received information that a man was inside with illegal drugs.

He said police officers seized from Bombeo three sachets of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.

Bombeo, according to Salva, is a “high-value target” of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office (Cocpo).

“Actually, Bombeo has been under surveillance for weeks after he was identified by our community intelligence as one source, and a user of illegal drugs,” Salva alleged.

Bombeo declined to comment about his arrest but he admitted that he was a former shabu user.
