POLICE seized some P1.2 million in suspected shabu even as they arrested 10 persons during separate buy-and-bust operations in various barangays of the city on Wednesday.

Chief Insp. Harvey Abellanosa, chief of the Detective Management Desk of the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office, identified the suspects as Pio Saren and his wife Leonor of Cristo Rey Subdivision in Barangay Bonbon, Elvis Talasan, Loren Baal of El Salvador, Misamis Oriental;

Mars Gonal of Zamboanga City, Biama Buzar of Pinikitan, Camana-an, and Bertudan Bermoy. There were three others but police said they were minors.

Abellanosa alleged that the Sarens, who were arrested during a buy-and-bust operation at around 2 pm Wednesday, were operating a drug den in Barangay Bonbon.

He said police caught in the Sarens’ residence Talasan, Baal,  Gomal  and Buzar.

Gomal allegedly confessed to being a gun-for-hire while Buzar is a Day Care Center teacher in Piniklitan here.

Abellanosa said the Saren couple responded to the “Operation Tokhang” campaign earlier, and had promised to mend their ways.

Seized from their house were some P200 thousand in suspected shabu, a caliber .45 pistol, marked money and drug paraphernalia.

In the evening, police arrested Bermoy and three minors during a similar operation at Villa Angela Subdivision in Balulang.

Police said Bermoy yielded suspected illegal drugs eastimated to worth P1  million, P500 bills and marked money.

The arrests were made by Abellanosa’s group and the Carmen police station.
