TWO indigenous people will be facing charges for violating the election gun ban and illegal possession of firearms after police caught them at a checkpoint in Cugman at around 7:40 pm, Monday.

Cugman police chief, Capt. Allan Oculare Cairel identified the suspects as Arnel Cataques, aka Datu Tindogan, 42, and Quintin Cebuco, aka Datu Langoyan, 52, both residents of Sambangan Dalirig, Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon.

Cairel said the suspects were riding a motorcycle when they were flagged down at the checkpoint. At the checkpoint, police noticed a bulge on the suspects’ waists.

Police seized from Cataques a cal. 45 pistol with one live bullet and a cal. 38 revolver and six live bullets from Cebuco.

The two suspects are currently detained at Cugman Police Station pending formal filing of charges.
