October 8-9, 2015 marked as the memorable days for the ALS learners in the Division of South Cotabato. More than 500 learners from different municipalities were gathered and be a part of this celebration.
A celebration was started by a parade around the market of Polomolok with the learners in the different municipalities of South Cotabato, ALS implementers, Brgy. Councils, Division Staffs, School Heads and guest. A programme was followed and a statement given by Polomolok Mayor, Hon. Honey Lumayag-Matti, the Out of School Youths were given much priority to win them back to school because she believes that through education, we can change our life to a better one.
In the afternoon of October 8, different contest skills were participated in by different skilled learners. Table skirting, Table Napkin Folding,Flowers Fruits and Vegetables Arrangements, Fruits and Vegetables Carving, Nail Art Designs, Poster Making Contest, Quiz Bee and Essay Writing Contest. It was truly indeed that ALS learners are competent enough in the different skills competition.
In the night of the same date, a socialization night was held along with the song solo contest, duet and modern dance contest. A loud shout and a feeling of intense was there when the contest was started. The night was ended and T’boli West District proclaimed as champion in the song solo and duet competition, and Polomolok West District as champion in the modern dance contest.
On the second day, ball games and Laro ng Lahi were played by the learners. They were happy and actively participated the different activities. Aside from new acquaintances they went home with the smile on their faces and treasured the experiences they had during the Division ALS Literacy Week Celebration. (ADVT)
