“Every man meets his Waterloo at last.” – Wendell Phillips

ANGST is defined as a feeling of dread, anxiety or anguish. But in his book, “Turn it to gold,” Dr. D. James Kennedy writes that psychiatrists define angst as “an unspecified, undesignated, unnamed fear that hovers over everything.”

To be honest, ever since Jan. 25 when 44 valiant SAF commandos were brutally killed by the MILF-BIFF assassins, I’ve seen angst in the face of our President. And every time our President blames the sacked SAF commander and calls his critics “KSP,” angst is written all over his face.

How I wish I had the privilege of seeing the picture of our President when some of the Hacienda Luisita farmers were ruthlessly wasted by some armed government personnel some years back.

Anyway, at this time, whether the loyalists of President Aquino like it or not, more and more people from all walks of life are beginning to entertain the idea that we have a hopeless case scenario. What we have is a President who grabs whatever little success his administration achieves but is quick to blame others for his countless failures, if not crimes.

What is sad is that he won because of his well-loved and respected parents and despite his utterly dismal performance as a congressman and as a senator. This charade has to stop pronto. Otherwise, President Aquino may meet his own waterloo before the BBL’s. As a fair warning and reminder to our President, Voltaire says, “He who thinks himself wise, O heavens! Is a great fool.”

And if our “tongressmen,” as the Plazans love to call our legislators in the bigger house of Congress, will railroad and ram down our throats the fatally flawed BBL for the funds of it, they can kiss their greed goodbye. Mark my word, “The power that is supported by force alone will have cause often to tremble.” (Kossuth)

“The true organ of thinking is not the head but the heart.” – Ancient Chinese saying.

Intuition is the power of understanding a fact, the truth, a conclusion, etc. without any reasoning process or analysis. On the other hand, neoropsychiatrist Mona Lisa Schultz defines intuition as “the ability to make a correct decision with insufficient information.” Ergo, with Miss Schultz’ definition of intuition, it becomes easy to conclude that even granting without admitting that PNoy was misled by the sacked SAF commander in the Jan. 25 2015 heinous massacre of the 44 valiant SAF commandos in the cornfields of Mamasapano, then it means our President has to go because he utterly lacks the necessary presidential intuition.

But is it not a shame, if not incompetence of the highest order that with all the billions of pesos spent from our taxes to have and maintain a national police force our President is allowed to send text messages to his subordinates?

Don’t tell me that we have so corrupt a government that they could not even afford to buy a smart phone that sends out encrypted messages. And haven’t our police force heard and read Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War?” Where in the world can you find a supposedly elite force that would send out text messages of success while they are still in harm’s way? Wa mo kyapi?

Finally, I hope and pray that henceforth, PNoy memorizes by heart an Old Irish toast, “May you have the hindsight to know where you’ve been, the foresight to know where you’re going, and the insight to know when you’ve gone too far.”

“Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” – 1 Peter 5:6-7

Thank you Lord for everything. And, Lord God, inculcate honesty among us all so that truth shall set us all free. Lord, kindly teach our leaders to practice honesty and humility especially now that we are only 10 days away from the Holy Week and hopefully our leaders shall learn to accept the truth that they are our servants and not our masters, and those who have less in life are their true masters––the sovereign and very source of power and wealth. Finally, Lord, make our leaders realize that greed is a flawed and fatal economic principle. Truly, there is more profit in giving, not in taking. For it is in giving that we receive. Truly, love begets love. Amen!
