About 29,385 police checkpoints set across northern Mindanao yielded 244 guns and filed 201 criminal charges against 172 arrested violators in court over the last five months since the implementation of nationwide gun ban in January 10.

The 117 of the firearms confiscated are classified as high-powered while 123 are low-powered, said Police Chief Superintendent Lyndel A Desquitado, Police Regional Office (PRO 10), as the 120-days election period end in June 8. (PRO X)
