Investigators are also trying to identify the victim.

Maj. Cecilio Orcullo, Balingasag police chief, said the victim stood at five feet and 10 inches, was between 30 to 40 years old, and had fair complexion. He was wearing a sleeveless white and pink pajama.

Motorists found the body sprawled along the highway, and called up the police.

Orcullo theorized that the victim was taken from his house.

“Murag gikan pa ni siya natulog kay nganong naka pajama man lang,” said Orcullo, adding that the man was apparently from another place, and then shot and killed in Balingasag.

Investigators found two empty shells from a caliber .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Punta Gorda is situated near the boundaries of Jasaan and Balingasag towns. The area where the victim was found has no street lights, a problem motorists have long been complaining about.
