The NPS of the Department of Justice through its Chief Jorge Catalan, Jr. said it is time that the prosecutors be armed to protect themselves.

It was learned that per report of the Philippine National Police, former Prosecutor, lawyer Geronimo S. Marabe, Jr. was shot Tuesday morning at around 10:30 while driving in his car, at 50th district of said city by four unidentified men riding in motor vehicles. He was pronounced dead upon reaching Faith Hospital.

NPS then, through Catalan Jr. said that it condemns “in strongest terms’’ the “incessant killings” of prosecutors all over the country. There have been 14 prosecutors that were killed in the last 26 years, said the NPS.
