A Mindanao-wide alliance of youth organizations and students against US military intervention in the country was revived on Thursday in opposition to US-Philippines military agreements and Lumbia airport conversion.
The Alyansa ng Kaba-taan Laban sa Panghihi-masok ng Sundalong Ameikano – Mindanao (Aklas-Mindanao) was launched to oppose the implementation of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) and other onerous agreements with US.
Reymond Tatlonghari, lead convernor of Aklas Mindanao said the group shall spearhead the information drive in the whole region of Mindanao regarding the Edca inside the schools, communities and other institution.
Tatlonghari said they condemn the usage of American troops to the five agreed locations across the country, including Lumbia Airport.
