The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in Northern Mindanao has called for everyone’s support and cooperation in the conduct of the 2015 Census of Population (Popcen) this August.

While he gave assurance that any information given to enumerators will be held strictly confidential, Nasol also warned those who refuses or fails to give truthful information has corresponding penalties.

Nasol underscored the importance of the data that will be collected for government executives, decision makers and planners in crafting economic development plans, policies, and programs.

He said the results of the census are vital for the business sector in identifying sites for establishing businesses, determining consumer demands and supply of labor for the production of various goods and services.

The 2015 Popcen, which will commence on August 10, is a complete enumeration of households in the country designed primarily to take an inventory of the population of the entire Philippines.

Enumerators wearing official Popcen 2015 IDs will visit and interview every household to ask basic information such as age, sex, marital status, education, and usual occupation.
