PCSO regional manager Raul Regondola said the illegal outlets are operating in Tagoloan, Villanueva, Opol, Alubijid, Balingasag, Salay and El Salavador city, all in Misamis Oriental.

Vice Gov. Jose Mari Pelaez said he has taken note of the revelation and he would call for a meeting with police officials from all the towns and the cities of Gingoog and El Salvador. “The main objective is to discuss the complaint raise by PCSO officials regarding the illegal gambling operations,” he said.

Regondola has complained that PCSO sales in the province plunged from P20 million a month to P5 million because of the illegal outlets.

As a result, he said, PCSO has decided to reduce its aid to the needy in this part of the country. Police provincial director Supt. Manuel Alvarez said he has ordered police operations stepped up against the illegal activities.
