ILIGAN City — Street curbs, concrete bridge railings, traffic islands, pedestrian lanes, roundabout and traffic barriers located along the major roads of this city recently received a fresh layer of paint as the Department of Public Works and Highways – Lanao del Norte 2nd District Engineering Office (DPWH-LN2 DEO) implements its beautification project in support of the annual celebration of the city fiesta.
“We want to help beautify Iligan since we are expecting thousands of visitors from near and far who will join in the festivities this year”, explained District Engineer Alykan Ali.
The repainting project of DPWH-Lanao del Norte 2nd District is also aimed at boosting local tourism and spur economic activity in this fast-rising city.
“This visual improvement project undertaken by DPWH is our humble contribution to the highly-participated Diyandi Festival of Iligan City,” Maintenance Point Person Sukarno Hadjinor said. (dpwh pio)
