The word, “Radical” comes from the Latin word, “Radix” which means, “Back to the roots”.  We go back to the very core of Christianity which is the Gospel of Grace.  “Radical exists to follow Christ Radically and establish a Christ-centered, God-honoring, Spirit-empowered, and Authentic Disciple-Making Churches in every City and Nation around the world.

Radical fellowship

Radical started on June of 2017 during the church planting stage with 11 Core leaders who follows God and loves people. One way that Radical helps in empowering the youth is through its Campus Ministry which is considered one of its crown jewels.

Passing the baton to the next generation is one of utmost priorities. “We disciple, equip, and empower young people to radically follow Christ and bring the best in them to bring the best in others.  We believe that every young people have a God given call and purpose.  We teach them the value and purpose of life, give them platform to hone their God given talents and empower them to make disciples as well,” Torredes said.

Every individual has a God given talents and skills.  Radical also provides opportunities to showcase their talents for God and for others – and one of its avenues is music.  “We give our young people a platform to sing, play their instruments, and composed their own songs.  Worship and Music are one of those platforms,” Torredes said.

Ps. Janssen Torredes

The best time to visit Radical is on Sundays according to Torredes “Our Sunday worship service is every 10am at Cinema 1, SM Premier Downtown Mall and 5pm English Visayan Service @ Barakdahan Grill Bldg. Tirso- Neri Sts. CDO.  Aside from our Weekend services, we also have our Mid-week Prayer meeting every Wednesday 6:30pm at Radical Center, Badkadahan Grill bldg.”

He added “Aside from our Worship and Prayer gatherings, we have our Connect groups happening every week.  Connect group is a small group where people could study the word of God, pray together, and Fellowship.”

When asked about his journey as a Christian Organization leader he said “Leadership is painful.  If you’re not bleeding then you’re not leading. One of the most challenging aspects of leadership is navigating your people to where God wants us to be.  We can’t get stuck from where we are.  You have to bring them from infancy to maturity of their faith in Christ. But you need to be more patient and gracious as you lead them.  Changing culture and mindsets takes a lot of grace and patience,” he said.

Sighting the future of Radical Torredes shared: “God has called us to impact Cities and nations by preaching the Gospel of grace.  We want to see radical transformation in the lives of the people and reach out the 7 mountains of society namely Church, Family, Medical Fields, Business Communities, Campuses, Media Arts and Entertainment and Government.  We are committed by God’s grace to raise more leaders and pastors to plant churches in every City and Nation around the world.”

“The Gospel is the ultimate solution to every man’s problem.  Jesus Christ is the only hope and anchor of our soul. No one else and nothing else.  He’s the master builder and the chief cornerstone.  Everything in our life should revolve around Him. The local church is the only legitimate institution that God will use to advance His kingdom by preaching the gospel to the world.  God has no plan B.  Church is not a building or a religion.  Church is the people of God whom God called and set apart for His purpose, glory, and pleasure.  We are Radical for God and Radical for people,” he concluded.
