The Toronto Raptors made history on Thursday night (Friday Manila time) for being the very first team outside of the United States in winning the coveted National Basketball Association (NBA) championship title.
Raptors went head to head against the Gold State Warriors at the latter’s home court at the Oracle Arena for game six ending the game with 114 to 110.
Thursday night’s game wasn’t a walk in the park for both teams since the Warriors had home court advantage. It was a neck-to-neck battle as they traded baskets in the final quarter with intense back and forth fast breaks between the Raptors and Warriors throughout the match.
The Raptors was founded in 1995 as part of the NBA’s expansion into Canada. This is their NBA Finals debut in their 24th season with Kawhi Leonard named Most Valuable Player. (Dave Achondo)
