A STILL unidentified assailant stabbed to death a rice trader in Balingasag, Misamis Oriental on Thursday night.
Senior Insp. Arnold Gaabucayan, Balingasag police chief, identified the victim as Arnie Dagoc who distributed rice at the town’s public market.
Gaabucayan said Dagoc was found bathed in his own blood in the bushes in Sitio Benser, Barangay Cogon at around 8 pm. The victim was stabbed at least five times.
He said the attack was apparently planned as there were indications the assailant waited for Dagoc to pass by.
Gaabucayan also ruled out the possibility of robbery, adding that police found some P60 thousand in one of his pockets.
Investigators found the a knife, a cellphone, and a piece of wood with blood stains at the crime scene. (Nitz Arancon)
