Learning is not attained by chance; it must be sought for with ardor and attended to with diligence – Abigail Adams

The Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro East Urban (RCEU) held its first Rotary Basics Session for RY 2019-20 last June 27 at the Maison de Bonbon.  PDG FE JUAREZ, a Doctor of Philosophy and an engaging speaker, introduced Rotary to the new aspirants.

Equipped with a powerpoint presentation and the skills and knowledge of being in Rotary for no less than 29 years, she vividly showed a beautiful story of how Rotary started, the “what’s” and “whys” and the noble people who started it all. An accomplished historian, she recounted the changes that Rotary went through, how it started as a men’s club, notable projects like the Polio plus of which the Philippines was the first beneficiary and a lot of other interesting things.

IP Rosalinda Caragos gives her welcome remarks

The 9 hopefuls who will be inducted on July 7, listened with excitement, and the Rotarians who were with them joined their enthusiasm in answering questions about Rotary.

At least 40 Rotarians gathered to give encouragement to the new ones. DIRECTOR FOR MEMBERSHIP DAISY TIU, VP-EXTERNAL AFFAIRS IMEE VAN DER BORN, and IP ROSALINDA CARAGOS were happy with how the session went.
