The event was made possible with the cooperation of the following NGOs and Philanthropist; wheelchair for Kids Inc., Rotary Club of Mosman, PDG Danny Low, RID 9685 NSW Australia, Dr. Angeline Low, and Physiotherapist Melissa Chan & Jenny Young.

With project partners Capitol University, Congresswoman Juliette T. Uy, Cagayan de Oro Social Welfare Office, Misamis Oriental Provincial Social Welfare Office, and Zonta Club CDO 1.

In an interview with Capitol University vice president Dr. Fe R. Juarez, Ph.D she revealed that this was not the first time her group distributed specialized wheelchairs to people with disabilities (PWDs) in Northern Mindanao, a couple years back other than the first “Wheelchair Distribution Project” their club has given a total of 137 out of 250 specialized wheelchairs to beneficiaries.

The club also shared the other wheelchair to other clubs, same as what they have done now.

“This year, we received a total of 250 wheelchairs, and for this event we have 77 to be given, and we shared some with the Rotary Club of Kidapawan and S.T.A.N.D. in Oroquieta city in Misamis Occidental that also caters to kids with disabilities such as cerebral palsy,” Juarez said.

Meanwhile, Ms. Imee revealed that although the activity would only run for 2 days, they will continue to distribute the remaining wheelchairs to children suffering from Cerebral Palsy until supplies last.

She also disclosed the requirements to avail the free wheelchair. “The only have to comply with the requirements; certificate of indigency from their barangay, medical profile or history, and photo of the beneficiary and email it through fejuarez3870@gmail.com and for more details they can contact us through ophiecaro@yahoo.com.”
