Candidates for the local search of Miss BDO 2015 Cagayan de Oro City joined Rotary Club of Kalayaan Cagayan de Oro in the latter’s “Share a Meal” weekly feeding program for the children of Malasag Elementary School, Cugman, CDO on August 14, 2015.

Six of the 12 beauties were present, namely, Carmela Crisostomo, Jocelyn Tan, Karen Baconguis, Kimberly Panes, Maristela Baang and Maria Bianca Trocino who facilitated the fun games and gave out toys and goodies for the prizes. Grades 4 to 6 were the chosen beneficiaries.

As program coordinator for Miss BDO 2015 and as new generations committee chair of RC Kalayaan, I initiated this project to give the candidates an exposure towards community involvement, getting more socially concerned of their role as young professionals.

The fun games started before 11 a.m. and ended at around 12 noon just in time for the kids to have their sumptuous lunch in RC Kalayaan’s weekly feeding program. The food preparation was done by the parents of Malasag Elementary School, and the candidates happily assisted in the food distribution for the students.

The activity ended with the candidates inviting everybody to the most awaited coronation night on August 30, 2015 at Xavier University- Ateneo de Cagayan Grade School Pueblo. Justine Patricia Camat of BDO Velez was eventually crowned as Miss BDO 2015.
