ILIGAN City — Colonel Thomas R. Sedano assumed, Thursday, command of the 2nd Mechanized Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army, based in Maria Cristina, Iligan City.

In the presence of reporters, he relieved Col. Robert C. Dauz who will be assigned to another post.

Major Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay, commander of the Mechanized Infantry Division presided over the turn over of command.  He handed over to the incoming commander the Unit Symbol of the brigade.

In his message, Gapay thanked all those who have contributed to the continuing success of the brigade and wish that they will support the unit under the new commander.

It was learned that Gapay had also been commander of the brigade years ago before he was promoted to his present rank and given his current post.

Reporters saw the well-attended turnover ceremony where awards were given to military, civilian, and community leaders who have contributed in the accomplishment of the unit’s mission during the stint of the outgoing commander.

Musa Sanguila, the Managing Director of Pakigdait, Inc., one of the leading peace advocates in the province of Lanao del Norte was one of the many awardees.
