Carmen police station commander Senior Insp. Demver Vergara identified the victim as Wesley Remalig of Magsaysay Street, this city.

Vergara said Remalig had just finished 6th grade at Pilgrim Christian College.

According to Vergara,   at around 10 am Friday, Relamig, along with his teacher Cheska Mae Madrona and his classmates  went to Six Angels Resort in Barangay Bayabas for a post-outing graduation.

Vergara said the resort is managed by Joeford Supilanas and owned by Stephanie Jadap.

“Pagka 12 noon sa maong adlaw, nawala si Remalig  ug gipangita sa iyang teacher ug mga classmates. Sulod sa 10 minutes nga ilang pagpangita,  ilang nakit-an ang biktima nga milutaw sa swimming pool,” said Vergara.

Vergara said Remalig drowned in one of the pools for adults.

He said the caretaker and other people in the area tried to resuscitate the boy but failed.

He was rushed to a hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

Remalig’s father Arche said his family would make the resort’s management answer for his son’s death.

“Walay ilang signage sa  water level ug walay ilang life guard on duty,” Arche said.

Arche said his family also want Pilgrim Christian College to conduct an investigation and find out why the teacher brought her pupils to the resort.
