Gingoog City — The skeletal remains of a murdered woman has been found buried near the sea in the coastal area of Purok 1A in Brgy 19 this city said SPO4 Teddy Macarayo Gingoog Police Chief Investigator

He said the skeletal  remains were identified to belong to a certain Janet Gaudicos, 27, a native from the province of Bohol.

Macarayo said the exhumation of the skeletal remains was witnessed by Gingoog City Chief of Police Sup. Ariel Philip Pontillas, Butuan City Police personnel led by Insp. Jayeward Potillo, and the common law husband of the victim.

The identity of the victim was based on the confession of her common law husband, Tirso Cachapero, 47, also a native of Bohol but presently lives in Barangay Langihan, Butuan City, Macarayo added.

Macarayo said Cachapero confessed that he killed his owned wife by choking her neck to death in the afternoon of June 15, 2017 in the presence of their one-year-old son.

Cachapero told authorities he buried his wife in the evening of the same day at about 50 to 60 meters from their house.

Macarayo said Cachapero confessed to Butuan City Police personnel an hour after his arrest last Wednesday.

Cachapero was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Dionisio Calibo, Jr of RTC branch 50 of Loay, Bohol in 2015 for alleged violation of Republic Act 7610, Macarayo  bared.

He said Cachapero went on hiding in Cagayan de Oro City together with his family in 2016.

The suspect’s family moved to Gingoog City in 2017 shortly before transferring to Butuan city where he killed his common law wife.

After the exhumation of the skeletal remains of his wife, Cachapero immediately executed an Extra Judicial Confession affidavit as assist by Gingoog Lawyer Margie Lustre-Lumaad said Macarayo

The suspect sa brought back to Butuan then turned over to Loay Police Station in Loay, Bohol, said Macarayo.
